Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Tuah Educational Research and Evaluation journal must undergo double-blind peer review. The peer-review method is employed to maintain quality standards and provide credibility to papers. The review process typically takes approximately 4 to 12 weeks. The peer review proceeds through the following stages:

  1. Paper Submission: Authors submit manuscripts through the online system supported by the Open Journal System (OJS).
  2. Editorial Assessment: Submitted articles are initially assessed by the editor. The editor verifies whether the article aligns with the Journal's focus and scope. The composition and formatting of the article are evaluated against the Journal's Template to ensure it encompasses the journal's sections and writing style. Articles that pass this stage will be checked by Turnitin to identify plagiarism before being reviewed by reviewers. All submitted articles will be screened for plagiarism by Turnitin (maximum similarity of 20%).
  3. Editor-in-Chief Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief examines whether the article is suitable for the journal, original, interesting, and sufficiently significant for publication. If not, the article may be rejected without further review.
  4. Reviewer Invitation: The handling editor sends invitations to appropriate reviewers based on expertise and research interest proximity. Reviewers are unaware of the authors' identities, and conversely, authors are unaware of the reviewers' identities. Papers are sent to reviewers anonymously.
  5. Response to Invitation: Potential reviewers consider the invitation based on their expertise. They then decide to accept or decline.
  6. Review Conducted: Reviewers allocate time to read the paper. Review results are then submitted to the journal, with recommendations to accept, reject, or request revisions.
  7. Journal Evaluates Reviews: The Editor-in-Chief and editors consider all returned reviews before making an overall decision.
  8. Decision Communication: The editor sends a decision email to the authors, including relevant reviewer comments. Reviewer comments are sent anonymously to authors for necessary action and response. At this stage, reviewers will also receive an email or letter notifying them of their review outcomes.
  9. Final Steps: If accepted, the paper will proceed to manuscript editing. If the article is rejected or returned to authors for major or minor revisions, the handling editor will include constructive comments from reviewers to help authors improve the article. Authors must make corrections and revise the paper according to reviewer comments and instructions. After revision, authors must resubmit the revised paper to the editor. If the editor feels no further revisions are necessary, the paper is considered accepted. The revised version will then be published.
