Authors who publish in Customary Law Review agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. The work is simultaneously licensed under the [Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0)], which allows others to share and adapt the work with acknowledgment of its authorship and initial publication in this journal, as long as any adaptation is distributed under the same license.
  2. Authors may enter into separate, additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the work, such as posting it to an institutional repository or publishing it in a book, with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online in institutional repositories or on their personal websites before and during the submission process, as this can lead to productive exchanges and earlier and greater citation of the published work. Details are given in the journal's Deposit Policy.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is their own, that they have obtained permission to reproduce any third-party material, and that publication does not infringe the rights of others, including the rights of communities whose customary knowledge is discussed in the work.
