Publication Ethics

Tunjuk Ajar: Education and Culture in Society is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic publishing ethics to ensure that all published articles possess high academic integrity and originality. This journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in managing publication ethics. To this end, all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and editorial team members, are expected to fully comply with our policies regarding publication ethics, misuse of publication, and to respect the following statements:

Ethical Guidelines for Editors

  1. Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely based on their academic merit. An editor should not use unpublished information from personal research without clear written consent from the author.
  2. Editors must ensure that any manuscript submitted to the journal is evaluated based on its intellectual content without regard to the author’s gender, race, religion, nationality, etc.
  3. Editors must maintain the integrity of the publication review process. Therefore, the editor should not disclose the identity of the authors to reviewers or the identity of the reviewers to authors.
  4. Editors must ensure that all information related to the submitted manuscript is kept confidential before publication.

Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers

  1. Manuscripts accepted for review should be treated as confidential documents. They should not be shown or discussed with others except with the permission of the editor.
  2. Reviewers must not have any conflict of interest related to the research, author, or funding of the research.
  3. Reviews should be conducted as objectively as possible. Personal criticism of the author is prohibited. Reviewers should present their views clearly, supported by arguments.
  4. If reviewers feel they cannot complete the manuscript review within the stipulated time, they must inform the editor, so the manuscript can be sent to another reviewer.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

  1. Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original, and if they use the work or words of others, proper acknowledgment should be made. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  2. Authors must ensure that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is considered unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  3. Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. Corresponding authors must ensure that all relevant co-authors are included, and no inappropriate co-authors are listed. All co-authors must have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to submit it for publication.
  4. If at any point an author identifies significant errors or inaccuracies in the manuscript, they must report these to the editor immediately. If an editor or publisher is informed by a third party that a published work contains significant errors, the author is obliged to retract or correct the paper immediately or provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original work.

Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Prevention This journal rejects all forms of plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Each manuscript will be checked using plagiarism detection software before proceeding to the review stage. Articles with similarity rates above 20% will be returned to the author for revision or rejected.
