Copyright of Published Articles

Authors retain full copyright of their work without restriction. By submitting to Tunjuk Ajar: Journal of Education and Culture, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and a non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in any format.

No transfer or assignment of copyright to the journal or the publisher is required at any stage of the publication process. Authors are not asked to sign a copyright transfer agreement.

License Terms

All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). The license applies to the full text of every article from the moment of publication, without embargo.

Under this license, any user is free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format;
  • Adapt — remix, transform, translate, and build upon the article for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

The only condition is proper attribution: users must credit the original authors, cite Tunjuk Ajar: Journal of Education and Culture as the source, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made. The journal applies no additional legal or technological restrictions beyond those of the license.

Author Rights and Self-Archiving

Because authors retain copyright, they may, at any time and without seeking permission from the journal:

  • Deposit the preprint, the accepted manuscript, and the final published version in any institutional or subject repository;
  • Post the article on personal websites, academic networking platforms, or course materials;
  • Reuse the article, in whole or in part, in books, theses, and subsequent works.

No embargo period applies to any version. Authors are asked to cite the published version and include its DOI wherever the work is redistributed.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reproduce any material owned by third parties, such as figures, tables, images, or extended quotations. Such material must be clearly identified and attributed within the article, together with a statement of its copyright status, and it is not covered by the CC BY 4.0 license applied to the article as a whole. Authors warrant that their submission is original, does not infringe the rights of others, and has not been published elsewhere.

Copyright of the Journal Website

The terms above govern the articles published by the journal. Copyright in the journal website itself — including its design, layout, logo, and non-article content — is held by the publisher and is not covered by the CC BY 4.0 license. Permission to reuse website material should be requested from the publisher.
